A little background on me
Wyatt here~I wanted to share a little background info as to how I adopted my forever family.
My mom was on one her favorite forums in September of 2010 and someone had posted a link to Christmas ornaments for dog lovers. She was looking around at ones that said, “I love my Australian Cattle Dog” As she was scrolling down she saw an ornament that said “I love my mini Australian Shepherd” She didn’t know they bred minis and toys of Aussies. Mom and dad had lost a standard size Australian Shepherd to a seizure two years ago, they were still sad. (RIP CJ4) She knew then she was ready for another dog and something smaller this time. She loves herding dogs so she wanted a mini Aussie. My new dad did some research and discovered the price for an Aussie from a breeder was out of their price range. They have always adopted dogs from shelters. They put getting a mini Aussie on the shelf for the time being, no hurry. On November 27th, 2010 they were going to the pet store to pick up some crickets for their son’s tarantula and saw puppies up for adoption with a rescue group. They asked what kind of puppies they were and were told mini Aussies! My dad picked me up first and talked to me. Mom noticed I was missing a paw and I didn’t look anyone in the eye. Dad put me down and they walked away to discuss adopting me. Mom said she was scared of raising a special needs dog, who looked for all the world like he needed a lot of work. She was worried dad would spend every penny he made making life comfortable for me. So they adopted my brother, McGarrett who is now Jake who has no physical issues. They put a lot work and love into Jake and when he turned one year old this past August they thought how it would be great to have a playmate for Jake as Jasper who is twelve years old is not as energetic as Jakie is. Mom was about 60% ready and all this time dad was wondering what had happened to me and if I was alright. My story will continue
